BETTER: The supply of antique musical instruments is limited, so they become more valuable each year.
WORDY: We were in agreement with each other that Max was an unsuspecting old fool.
BETTER: We agreed that Max was an unsuspecting old fool.
** On the SAT, the best answer is the shortest one that doesn’t violate any conventions of English or change the intended meaning of the sentence.
